تقدير العلاقة بين معدل البطالة غير المتسارع للتضخم Nairu، التضخم و البطالة في الجزائر

Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to study the relationship between the non-accelerating inflation rate of unemployment (NAIRU) and inflation and the unemployment rate in Algeria during the period from 1990 to 2023. To achieve the objective of the study, we relied on the standard approach using the VECM error correction model. The study results concluded that the study variables have a long-term joint integration relationship and that there is an inverse relationship between inflation and the unemployment rate in the medium term, which indicates the existence of the Phillips curve in Algeria. According to the Granger test, there is a unidirectional causal relationship from inflation to both the non-accelerating inflation unemployment rate (NAIRU) and unemployment, in addition to a bidirectional causal relationship between the non-accelerating inflation unemployment rate (NAIRU) and the unemployment rate. NAIRU was13.31 during this period.
