"This study examines the role of the employee selection process in reducing employee turnover within Algerian organizations. Employee selection is considered one of the fundamental functions of Human Resource Management due to its direct impact on workforce stability and organizational effectiveness. The importance of this study stems from the fact that employee turnover is a significant organizational phenomenon that negatively affects organizational performance and continuity through the material, human, and knowledge-related losses it generates. The study was guided by the following main research question: To what extent does the employee selection process contribute to reducing employee turnover in Algerian organizations? Three sub-questions were derived from this main question, focusing on the impact of role ambiguity, work environment, and professional development opportunities on employee turnover. To address these questions, the study adopted the descriptive-analytical approach, which is considered appropriate for examining organizational phenomena and analyzing the relationships among their variables. A questionnaire was used as the primary data collection instrument. The collected data were statistically processed and analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to test the study hypotheses and determine their statistical significance. The findings revealed a statistically significant relationship between the employee selection process and employee turnover rates in Algerian organizations. The results indicated that a high-quality selection process contributes to enhancing job stability and reducing employees’ intentions to leave their jobs. The study also found that role ambiguity increases employee turnover due to unclear tasks and responsibilities, which lead to work-related stress and lower organizational commitment. Furthermore, the results demonstrated that a positive work environment helps reduce employee turnover by enhancing job satisfaction and promoting a sense of stability. In contrast, the lack of professional development opportunities, training programs, and promotion prospects increases employees’ desire to leave the organization in search of better career growth opportunities. The study concludes that the successful attraction and selection of suitable employees, combined with the provision of a supportive work environment and continuous professional development opportunities, are among the most important factors contributing to the reduction of employee turnover and the achievement of organizational stability. | |
