Abstract

Brucellosis is one of the most widespread zoonotic bacterial diseases that can be transmitted to humans from animals. It has impacts on public health and the global economy. The aim of this study is to review scientific works and research on medicinal plants in treating brucellosis, examining a variety of published studies from different global databases. This study highlights the potential effects of various medicinal herbs in treating the bacterial brucellosis disease to protect the health of humans and their accompanying animals. It sheds light on the beneficial results of traditional medicinal plants and new botanical extracts, from ancient times to modern uses. After reviewing a range of previous studies, the results obtained show that the global uses of herbs and their extracts as alternative and complementary medicines in treating brucellosis will not only safeguard health issues and optimize animal production but also ensure public health matters
