This work focuses on the valorization of agricultural residues by transforming them into useful raw materials that can be exploited in the manufacture and preparation of polymer-matrix composites, particularly those based on widely used polymers such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The characterization and analysis of these composite materials provide valuable insights into their physical, mechanical, and functional properties, thereby offering a preliminary assessment of their potential fields of application. These applications include, but are not limited to, thermal and acoustic insulation, packaging, and industrial wastewater treatment. The valorization of agricultural residues through their incorporation into polymer composite materials represents a promising approach toward sustainable development. Natural fibers extracted from agricultural wastes such as wheat straw, palm fibers, and rice husks can be used as reinforcing agents for polymers in order to improve their mechanical performance while reducing production costs. The results indicate that this approach contributes to reducing environmental pollution caused by the accumulation or open-field burning of agricultural residues, while simultaneously providing lightweight and environmentally friendly materials. Furthermore, these composites can be employed in a wide range of applications and offer significant added value to agricultural waste, thereby promoting the efficient utilization of renewable resources for the production of materials with satisfactory technical and economic performance.
