The Impact of Digitalization of University Services on Students' Performance: A Random Forest Approch

Abstract

"هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى دراسة أثر الخدمات التعليمية الرقمية على التحصيل الدراسي للطلاب. ولمعالجة مشكلة البحث، اعتمدنا المنهج الوصفي، واستُخدم استبيان إلكتروني لجمع البيانات من مجتمع الدراسة، المكون من طلاب جامعة الشهيد حمة لخضر الواد. وبلغ إجمالي الإجابات الصحيحة 364. واستُخدمت خوارزمية الغابة العشوائية لتقدير النماذج باستخدام برنامجي R وRStudio. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج رئيسية: تُسهم الخدمات التعليمية الرقمية، مثل منصات التعلم الإلكتروني والمكتبات الرقمية والمحاضرات الإلكترونية، بشكل إيجابي في تحسين الأداء الدراسي للطلاب. كما وُجد أن الكفاءة الذاتية والدافعية تُمثلان متغيرين وسيطين في العلاقة بين استخدام الخدمات الرقمية والتحصيل الدراسي. وأظهرت نماذج الغابة العشوائية دقة متوسطة، مما يعكس تعقيد العلاقات بين المتغيرات المدروسة. وأظهرت المتغيرات الديموغرافية، مثل الجنس والعمر، تأثيرًا محدودًا على هذه العلاقة. أوصت الدراسة باتخاذ عدة إجراءات، منها: تعزيز تكامل المنصات التعليمية الرقمية في التدريس الجامعي، وتوفير ورش عمل تدريبية للطلاب حول كيفية الاستخدام الفعال للموارد الرقمية، وتحسين البنية التحتية الرقمية داخل الجامعة، وتشجيع أعضاء هيئة التدريس على تبني التكنولوجيا في أساليبهم التدريسية. "This study aimed to examine the impact of digital educational services on students' academicachievement. To address the research problem, the descriptive method was adopted, and an electronic questionnaire was used to collect data from the study population, consisting of students at the University of Martyr Hamma Lakhdar El Oued. A total of 364 valid responses were obtained. The Random Forest algorithm was employed to estimate the models using R and RStudio. The study reached several key findings: digital educational services—such as e-learning platforms, digital libraries, and online lectures—positively contribute to improving students' academic performance. It was also found that self-efficacy and motivation act as mediating variables in the relationship between the use of digital services and academic achievement. The Random Forest models showed moderate accuracy, reflecting the complexity of the relationships among the studied variables. Demographic variables such as gender and age showed limited impact on this relationship. The study recommended several actions, including: enhancing the integration of digital educational platforms in university teaching, providing training workshops for students on how to effectively utilize digital resources, improving digital infrastructure within the university, and encouraging faculty members to adopt technology in their teaching methods.
