This study aimed to evaluate the phytochemical profile, biological activities, and nutritional value of hydro-methanolic extracts from the aerial and underground parts (bulbs) of Dipcadi serotinum (L.) Medik growing in the Oued Souf region, southeastern Algeria. A qualitative phytochemical screening was conducted to identify chemical families and secondary metabolites, followed by quantitative determination of total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC). Antioxidant activity was assessed using DPPH radical scavenging and FRAP assays, in addition to the determination of the Sun Protection Factor (SPF). The biological evaluation also included antibacterial activity against selected pathogenic strains, anti-inflammatory activity, anti-hemolytic activity, and nutritional composition analysis. Results revealed a significant predominance of phenolic compounds in the aerial part (40.47 ± 0.13 µg GAE/mg), with strong antioxidant potential (IC50 = 1.07 mg/ml) and SPF value of 17.037. Both aerial and underground parts exhibited notable antibacterial activity, particularly against Escherichia coli, while the bulbs demonstrated high anti-hemolytic activity and an exceptionally elevated carbohydrate content (90.9%). These findings highlight Dipcadi serotinum as a promising source of bioactive natural compounds and nutritional value, with potential applications in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and therapeutic fields.
