Abstract

"The digital economy has proven to be a key pillar for achieving sustainable development in BRICS countries by driving economic growth, promoting social equity, and supporting environmentally smart solutions. The objective of this scientific study was to examine how the digital economy contributes to the economic, social, and environmental aspects of sustainable development in the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) between 2005 and 2023. Significant digital changes have occurred in these nations, as seen by the growth of digital infrastructure, an increase in internet usage, and a rise in investments in digital education and financial technology. This study has shown how digital technologies have used creative and quick solutions to meet traditional development difficulties. To maintain this development, though, regulatory loopholes must be filled, cybersecurity standards must be strengthened, and the advantages of the digital economy must be distributed fairly throughout society. In order to promote a sustainable and inclusive digital environment for both the current and future generations, the report advises the creation of comprehensive digital policies as well as the strengthening of BRICS collaboration.
