This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the aqueous and oil extracts of tobacco plant as insecticides against aphids. The aqueous extract of tobacco leaves was prepared by steeping and filtering, and the oil extract was prepared using a Kelvinger apparatus. Five consecutive concentrations of the aqueous extract (2,5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, and 20 mg) and four consecutive concentrations of the oil extract (3.3 µL, 5 µL, 6.6 µL, and 10 µL) were tested. Aphids were treated by direct spraying, and observations were followed at 24 and 48 hours. The results showed that both tobacco leaf extracts had a toxic effect on aphids, especially at the 20 mg concentration in the aqueous extract and the 10 µL concentration in the oil extract, where the mortality rate reached 100%. The results also showed that time had a clear effect on the mortality rate, as explained by the 48-hour .results (i.e., the mortality rate increased over time)
