تؤكد هذه الدراسة إمكانية استخدام المواد النانوية الهجينة Dy₂O₃- α-Fe₂O₃ المحضّرة بطرق خضراء كحل واعد لتعزيز كفاءة أنظمة تحلية المياه الشمسية منخفضة التكلفة. n this work, hematite (α-Fe₂O₃) nanoparticles were prepared using a green and environmentally friendly method employing pomegranate peel extract as a natural source of reducing and stabilizing agents, aiming to develop effective nanomaterials with sustainable environmental applications. These nanoparticles were also doped with dysprosium oxide (Dy₂O₃) to improve their physical and chemical properties and enhance their functional performance. The structural and surface properties of the prepared compounds were investigated using various characterization techniques, which confirmed successful synthesis and the formation of a homogeneous nanostructure. Subsequently, these materials were applied to improve the performance of a simple solar still, where the results showed a significant increase in distillation efficiency compared to the undoped system. This improvement is attributed to increased thermal absorption, enhanced water evaporation rate, and improved heat transfer inside the still, due to the unique optical and thermal properties of the nanomaterials prepared using pomegranate peel extract and Dy₂O₃ doping. This study confirms the potential of hybrid nanomaterials prepared by green methods as a promising solution to enhance the efficiency of low-cost solar water desalination systems.
