Abstract

يتناول هذا البحث موضوع "الاستشراق" بوصفه ظاهرة معرفية وثقافية معقدة، ترتبط بتشكل الخطاب الغربي حول الشرق، وتمتد جذورها إلى صلب العلاقة بين السلطة والمعرفة. ومن خلال مقاربة تحليلية نقدية، يسعى البحث إلى تتبع دلالات الاستشراق وتطوراته التاريخية، مع التركيز على الأطروحة المركزية التي قدمها إدوارد سعيد، بوصفه أحد أبرز المفكرين الذين فككوا بنية هذا الخطاب وفضحوا آلياته التمثيلية. ينقسم البحث إلى ثلاثة فصول رئيسية. يخصص الفصل الأول لتحديد دلالات الاستشراق ومحطاته الكبرى، بدءًا من ضبط المفهوم لغويًا واصطلاحيًا، مرورًا بنشأته وتطوره في السياق الأوروبي، وصولًا إلى المواقف المتباينة التي رافقت ظهوره، بين من اعتبره مشروعًا علميًا محايدًا، ومن رآه أداة هيمنة ثقافية استعمارية. أما الفصل الثاني، فيرصد ماهية الاستشراق في فكر إدوارد سعيد، من خلال تقديم قراءة نقدية لمفهوم الاستشراق كما تصوره سعيد، باعتباره خطابًا مؤسسيًا يخضع لمنطق الهيمنة. ويتطرق هذا الفصل إلى المفارقة التي رسمها سعيد بين "الاستشراق الكامن" و"الاستشراق السافر"، باعتبارها مفتاحًا لفهم البنية الأيديولوجية التي تحكم التمثلات الغربية للشرق، كما يستعرض كيفية بناء الغرب لصورة "الآخر الشرقي" بوصفه نقيضًا وجوديًا وثقافيًا للذات الغربية. في حين يتناول الفصل الثالث الجدل المعرفي-السلطوي في الخطاب الاستشراقي، متتبعًا تمفصلات العلاقة بين إنتاج المعرفة وممارسة السلطة، انطلاقًا من فوكو وسعيد، مع إبراز كيف يتحول الاستشراق إلى أداة لإعادة إنتاج تبعية الشرق ضمن منظومة رمزية قائمة على الامتياز والهيمنة. "This research addresses the topic of ""Orientalism"" as a complex epistemological and cultural phenomenon, tied to the formation of Western discourse about the East. Its roots lie deep in the relationship between power and knowledge. Through a critical analytical approach, the study aims to trace the meanings and historical development of Orientalism, focusing on the central thesis presented by Edward Said, one of the most prominent thinkers who deconstructed the structure of this discourse and exposed its representational mechanisms. The research is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to defining the meanings of Orientalism and its major milestones, starting with the linguistic and terminological clarification of the concept, passing through its emergence and evolution in the European context, and concluding with the divergent positions surrounding it—between those who viewed it as a neutral scientific project and others who considered it a tool of cultural and colonial domination. The second chapter examines the essence of Orientalism in the thought of Edward Said, presenting a critical reading of the concept as he envisioned it—as an institutional discourse governed by the logic of domination. This chapter explores the dichotomy proposed by Said between ""latent Orientalism"" and ""manifest Orientalism,"" as a key to understanding the ideological structure that shapes Western representations of the East. It also highlights how the West constructs the image of the ""Eastern Other"" as an existential and cultural antithesis to the Western self. The third chapter addresses the epistemological-power conflict within Orientalist discourse, tracing the interrelations between the production of knowledge and the exercise of power, drawing from Michel Foucault and Edward Said, and showing how Orientalism becomes a tool for reproducing the subjugation of the East within a symbolic system based on privilege and domination.
