Abstract

We have made every effort to uncover the formation of the speaker's image (ethos) in the story of Yusuf through the dialogues it contains, which work to persuade the audience (pathos) and influence them through the speaker's use of linguistic mechanisms in their discourse that reveals and shapes their image. Our research is divided into an introduction, which discusses the concept of argumentation both historically and in modern contexts and its relation to its conceptual field, and two applied chapters. In these chapters, we examine the argumentative impact of linguistic mechanisms in shaping the image of the speaker in this Surah.
