التأثير الأليلوباتي للمركبات الفينولية على انبات بعض الأعشاب الضارة

Abstract

This work Ñ aims to study the Allelopathy effect of Ephedra alata D. Ñ and Zygophyllum album’s extracts on the germination of seeds of some weeds (Medicago sativa L., Peganum harmala L. and Portulaca oleracea L.). The results obtained by the chemical test showed that the aqueous extracts contains Saponins, Flavonoids, Sterols / Triglycerides, Reactive compounds, and Tannins, also the results showed the phenolic and flavonoid contents which were estimated by (155.41 ± 23.09.g GA E / mg Ext) in Ephedra alata D. ’s extract and (30.9 ± 50.95 .g GAE / mg Ext.) in Zygophyllum album L., ’s extract for the phenolic contents, while the flavonoid contents, the results were: (15.30 ± 27.14 .g Qu / mg Ext ( and (8.33 ± Ñ 17.67 .g Qu / mg Ext) in the extract of Ephedra alata D. and Zygophyllum album L., respectively. The effect of extracts on the germination of seeds was differentiated between stimulation and inhibition, where the inhibition was direct proportional with the increase concentration in both extracts, except the effect of the weak concentration in Ephedra alata D.’s extract, which was stimulating of the length of the root and shoot in the seeds of PeganumÑharmala L.
