Abstract

This study aims to measure the impact of sustainable environmental economics on economic growth in Algeria during the period 2000–2025 using the ARDL model. The results confirm a longrun relationship between GDP and environmental variables. In the short run, energy transition and environmental capacity positively affected growth, while environmental sensitivity, carbon footprint, and biocapacity showed varying effects. In the long run, energy transition and carbon footprint had negative impacts, whereas environmental sensitivity and capacity contributed positively to growth. The study emphasizes the importance of sustainable environmental policies and effective resource and emissions management to achieve sustainable economic growth
