Organic chemistry

Abstract

Organic chemistry is the branch of chemistry that focuses on the study of carboncontaining compounds, including their structures, properties, compositions, reactions, and methods of synthesis. It provides the foundation for biochemistry and has extensive applications in various industrial sectors such as pharmaceuticals, materials, dyes, polymers, and petrochemical industries. This course introduces the fundamental concepts of organic chemistry and is intended for second-year students in Process Engineering and Petrochemical Industries, as well as students in related scientific disciplines. It requires no advanced prior knowledge and is organized into five chapters covering the basics of organic chemistry, functional group classification, isomerism, electronic structures, and reaction mechanisms. الكيمياء العضوية هي فرع من فروع الكيمياء يركز على دراسة المركبات الكربونية، بما في ذلك بنيتها وخواصها وتراكيبها وتفاعلاتها، وطرق تصنيعها. وهي تُشكل الأساس للكيمياء الحيوية ولها تطبيقات واسعة النطاق في قطاعات صناعية متنوعة مثل الصناعات الدوائية والمواد والأصباغ والبوليمرات، والصناعات البتروكيماوية. يقدم هذا المقرر المفاهيم الأساسية للكيمياء العضوية وهو مُصمم لطلاب السنة الثانية في هندسة العمليات والصناعات البتروكيماوية، بالإضافة إلى طلاب التخصصات العلمية ذات الصلة. لا يتطلب المقرر أي معرفة مسبقة متقدمة، وهو مُنظم في خمسة فصول تُغطي أساسيات الكيمياء العضوية، وتصنيف المجموعات الوظيفية، والتماثل، والبنى الإلكترونية، وآليات التفاعل.
