Abstract

The study aims to identify the role of implementing the environmental management system (ISO 14001) in service organizations—with GEZE as a model— and its contribution to granting organizations entry into global markets, supporting them economically by increasing profitability and protecting the environment. The study will review the basic concepts of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (version 2015), its scope of application, the benefits of obtaining it, and its importance. It will also examine the concept of the environment, introduce GEZE, its environmental policy, and its acquisition of ISO 14001 certification. It will also explore the role of service organizations, with GEZE as a model, in protecting the environment. The study relies on a descriptive-analytical approach to study and analyze the various aspects of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. The study concludes that implementing ISO 14001 in service organizations enhances the organization's environmental commitment and contributes to reducing environmental pollution. It also contributes to improving environmental performance, increasing organizations' profitability and increasing market share. This requires implementing a wise environmental policy within organizations that seeks to protect and preserve the environment.
