Abstract

The main aim of this study was to investigate the nature of relationship between foreign direct investment FDI and labour productivity in the North African countries during the period 2008-2021. In addition, it aimed to explore whether or not technology readiness matter for this relationship. In order to achieve its objective, the study adopted panel FGLS method. The empirical findings of the study indicated a negative relationship between FDI and labour productivity. However, a positive relationship between labour skills and labour productivity was captured. Moreover, the interaction between FDI and labour skills was found to be a supporting factor of increasing labour productivity in these countries
