Abstract

يتناول هذا البحث مفاهيم البربرية، الحضارة والثقافة عند تودوروف، من حيثيتيْن، من جهة النقد الذي وجّهه لهذه المفاهيم ذات الحمولة الإديولوجية في سعييه إلى فضح الخلفية العنصرية التي تختفي وراءها، وتجعل منها مبررا لمقاربة الأشياء والأحكام من منظور الرؤية الغربية، ومن جهة الطريقة التي اعتمدها تودوروف لتأسيس هذه المفاهيم على أساس التحيّز للقيم الإنسانية العليا، والتأكيد على أنّ هذه المفاهيم (البربرية/الحضارة/الثقافة) ليست متناقضة وإنما يستوعبها الكائن الإساني ومُتضمّنة فيه تضمّنا استعداديا قبليا، والنتيجة تلاشي مبرر استخدام هذه المفاهيم في سبيل تمجيد الذات واعلائها في مقابل تحقير الآخر وامتهانه. : Abstract This paper deals with Todorov's concept of civilization and barbarism from two sides. Regarding the content of Todorov's criticism of these terms, which have ideological implications. Todorov sought to expose the racist background it hides behind, and makes it a justification for appraising things and judgments from the perspective of the Western vision, In terms of style, Todorov must base these concepts on the highest human values, then confirms that these concepts (barbarism / civilization / culture) are not contradictory, but that man has a prior willingness to emulate them, and the result is the disappearance of the justification for using these concepts to glorify the self and demean the other.
