The Impact Of Macroeconomic Variables On Inflation Rate Using The Ardl Self

Abstract

The research paper examines the impact of certain economic variables on the inflation rate in Algeria during the period 1990-2021 using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The model includes variables such as government spending, gross domestic product, and exchange rate. Unit root tests, cointegration tests using the ARDL approach, and diagnostic tests are employed to evaluate the model. The study also aims to test the short and long-term empirical relationship between the variables and the inflation rate. The study concluded that the model is interpretable after passing all diagnostic tests, with a long-term equilibrium relationship pointing from explanatory variables towards the inflation rate.
