This study examines digital transformation as a tool for developing Algeria's banking infrastructure (2019–2025) to align with global practices. Using a descriptive-analytical approach based on Central Bank reports, it analyzes the evolution of electronic payment systems and digital banking services: The results show a significant increase in the adoption of ATMs, POS terminals, and transaction volume, reflecting the integration of digital services into daily behavior and enhanced confidence in non-cash payments. Despite these gains, the system still faces challenges like incomplete modernization and limited ICT infrastructure, placing Algeria in mid-to-late global ranks. The study offers insights to enhance banking competitiveness amid rapid technological challenges.
