Abstract

The study aims to highlight the importance of natural gas as a clean and efficient energy source, using a descriptive–analytical approach supported by data and statistics. The findings show its ability to reduce emissions by 50% compared with coal and by 20–30% compared with oil, in addition to achieving 60% efficiency in combinedcycle electricity generation. The study also notes the global growth of natural gas reserves and its expanding use in power generation, industry, and transport. It further discusses key development challenges, including high drilling costs, limited technology in developing countries, and strict environmental regulations, underscoring the need for more sustainable strategies to enhance its future role.
